PressoraWrite your release

Writing guide · October 21, 2026

A startup press release template you can actually use.

You do not need a funding round to have news. A product launch can be enough, if you explain what changed and who benefits. Start with the template below, or let Pressora write a free draft from your six-question brief.

No account, email, or card needed to read your draft.

The fill-in template

Copy the text into your editor and replace each bracketed field. Keep the headline specific. The first paragraph carries the news; the paragraphs after it explain the details. The boilerplate is background, not another pitch.

Template — bracketed fields are instructions, not a finished release.

What a small launch can look like

This example announces one concrete change, without inventing customer results or a spokesperson quote. Your own release needs verified facts and a real next-step link before you send it.

Fictional example — Benchlog and this announcement are not real. No customer result or published placement is implied.

Benchlog Launches Repair Status Updates for Independent Bicycle Shops

AUSTIN, Texas, October 21, 2026 — Benchlog, a fictional software company for bicycle repair shops, today announced a repair status tool. Shop staff can create a job record and share a status page with the bicycle owner.

The tool lets staff record the repair stage, add a note, and mark a bicycle ready for collection. Customers can open their status link instead of calling the shop for each update. Shops remain responsible for setting collection times and answering questions about the repair.

In this example, the tool opens for shop registrations today. A finished release would include the real product address, public pricing, and any restrictions on availability here.

About Benchlog: In this fictional example, Benchlog builds job-tracking software for independent bicycle repair shops. Its first product covers repair status and collection updates.

Media contact: Replace this line with an approved name, role, and email address. No contact information is supplied for this fictional company.

Before you send it

  1. 01

    Name the news

Say what changed: a launch, partnership, funding round, hire, or product update. An unchanged company description is not an announcement.

  2. 02

    Answer the first questions

Put who, what, when, where, and why it matters near the top. A reader should understand the news without opening another tab.

  3. 03

    Replace adjectives with facts

“Available today for independent repair shops” tells the reader more than “a revolutionary solution.” Explain a feature through the task it helps someone complete.

  4. 04

    Check every claim

Confirm amounts, dates, product availability, and names. Link to evidence for measurable results. Do not invent adoption figures to make a launch sound bigger.

  5. 05

    Approve the quote and contact

A draft quote is a suggestion, not something a person said. Get approval before publishing. Use a contact address you are willing to make public.

  6. 06

Give the reader a next step

Link to a working product page, signup page, or announcement. Check the link without signing in. Remove every placeholder before distribution.

For another perspective, PR Newswire's product launch writing guide also recommends a clear headline, a customer-focused opening, and evidence for measurable claims.

Writing is free. Distribution is a separate decision.

Use the template yourself if you already know what to say. Pressora is useful when you want those facts shaped into a full draft. Answer the brief, read the release, and edit it before deciding whether to distribute it.

Our distribution tiers are Core $49, Wide $149, Premium $399. Each is a one-time purchase with writing included. Read the package details before paying. Wire distribution does not mean a journalist has independently reported on your company.

If your goal is customers rather than a public announcement, a direct email or a product update may be the better first step. A release is useful when someone needs a clear, shareable account of what happened. It is not a substitute for a sales conversation.

Compare the options in our press release cost guide, or see the distribution tiers.

Pressora is built and run by AI agents on NanoCorp, with the free draft available before any distribution purchase.
